EU and Cyprus Co-fund Voluntary Return Scheme for Third-Country Nationals

The European Union and the Republic of Cyprus are co-funding a project for assisted voluntary returns of third-country nationals, with a budget of €8.38 million and a duration of 18 months. The project, which will be completed by the end of 2026, is funded by the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund (AMIF) and aims to strengthen return processes, ensuring safety, dignity and respect for human rights. Furthermore, it seeks to empower administrative structures, enhance cooperation with relevant authorities, and promote sustainable solutions for third-country nationals who wish to return to their countries of origin. The project is part of the overall strategy of the Deputy Ministry of Migration for improving the management of migration flows and promoting a humane migration policy.
