Cyprus Stock Exchange Closes with Significant Losses

The Cyprus Stock Exchange closed with significant losses on Thursday. The CSE General Index fell by 2.62% to 261.97 points, while the FTSE/CySE 20 recorded a decline of 1.71% closing at 158.98 points. The total trading volume amounted to €554,211.76. All individual stock market indices recorded a decline, with the exception of the Hotels index which remained stable. The Main Market closed at 207.11 points (-2.91%), the Alternative Market at 1,814.15 points (-1.38%) and the Investment Market at 2,673.29 points (-1.06%). The stocks with the greatest investment interest were Logicom (€167,019.9), Bank of Cyprus (€117,402.1), Pandora Investments (€111,148.4), Vasilikos Cement Works (€39,719.8) and Dimetra Investment (€30,771.5). Logicom fell by 3.4%, Bank of Cyprus by 1.84% and Vasilikos Cement Works by 2.22%, while Pandora Investments rose by 6% and Dimetra Investment fell by 1.09%. Overall, four shares moved upwards, eleven downwards and three remained unchanged, with the number of transactions reaching 212. This decline reflects negative trends in the market, affecting various sectors of the Cypriot economy.
