President Christodoulides to Present Five-Point Proposal at Trilateral Meeting

The President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides, will attend the meeting with the Turkish Cypriot leader, Erhurman, in the presence of the Personal Envoy of the UN Secretary-General, Maria Angela Holguin, with a proposal comprising five points. The proposal addresses the core of the Cyprus issue and takes into account the Confidence-Building Measures (CBMs). President Christodoulides stated that if the proposal is accepted, it could lead to a resumption of substantial negotiations from where they left off in Crans Montana and significant CBMs. He also emphasized that the four issues of Mr. Erhurman's methodology have already been answered by the Greek Cypriot side. He expressed hope for a positive response and noted that political equality has already been discussed and settled.
