President of Cyprus Presents Eight Proposals at Informal EU Summit

The President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides, participated in an informal EU Summit in Alden Biesen, Belgium, presenting eight specific proposals to strengthen the EU's competitiveness. President Christodoulides described the Summit as important, emphasizing the need for decisions with clear timelines. He expressed hope that the Summit would lead to concrete results, as had happened with the previous informal Summit on defense and security. Strengthening competitiveness is a key priority of the Cypriot Presidency, within the framework of the EU's strategic autonomy. President Christodoulides expects important decisions during the Cypriot Presidency and will meet with Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis to be briefed on his meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
