Strong Demand for Renault 5 Electric: 100,000 Units Produced

Renault has announced the production of 100,000 units of the Renault 5 E-Tech electric in just 15 months at the Ampere ElectriCity factory in Douai, France. This milestone highlights the commercial success of the model and the importance of French production to Renault's electrification strategy. The 100,000th car was a Techno version with a 52 kWh battery, a popular choice. Production at the factory reaches approximately 900 cars per day, with two-thirds being Renault 5 E-Tech electric. The Renault 5 E-Tech electric has already been awarded the “Car of the Year 2025” title and is a key pillar of Renault’s electrification strategy. The company emphasizes that the model is a modern response to the technological and environmental challenges of the time. The model has achieved significant commercial success in Europe, ranking first in the B-segment electric car category for several months and topping electric car sales in France earlier this year. Similar performance has been recorded in the United Kingdom, Spain, and the Netherlands. Expansion into new markets, such as Israel and Morocco, is underway, with more markets expected in 2026. The Renault 5 E-Tech electric range will be enhanced with new versions, three engine options, two battery capacities, and five trim levels. From 2026, it will also feature new technologies, such as One Pedal operation and driver fatigue detection, improving comfort and safety. In Cyprus, the model is available from the Pilakouta Group in two power versions (120 and 150 PS) with a range of up to 400 km (WLTP).
