Agriculture Minister: Solutions for Farmers Must Be Bureaucracy-Free

The Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment, Dr. Maria Panagiotou, stated that solutions proposed to farmers must be implementable and free of bureaucratic procedures. This statement comes after the temporary postponement of protests by agricultural organizations, following a meeting with officials from relevant government agencies. The Minister stated that the proposal she submitted to the organizations has been adopted by the COOP and will be submitted to the European Commission for evaluation. The proposal concerns a mediating suggestion for cultivators of private plots with multiple owners. The Minister emphasized the importance of simplifying procedures for farmers so that they can focus on cultivating the land and not on bureaucratic matters.
