Christodoulides Prepares Measures for Turkish Cypriots, Seeks Erhurman's Approval

President of the Republic Nikos Christodoulides is preparing two unilateral measures to benefit the Turkish Cypriot community, focusing on healthcare and the economy. However, before the official announcement, he is seeking the positive position of the Turkish Cypriot leader, Tufan Erhurman, in order to avoid creating tension. The aim is to build a positive personal relationship between the two leaders. Simultaneously, the personal envoy of the UN Secretary-General, Maria Angela Holguin, is expected to visit Cyprus by the end of the month, following contacts in Geneva, Brussels, and Washington. President Christodoulides has accepted her request for a meeting and has proposed a joint meeting with Mr. Erhurman, but has not yet received a response.
