Paphos Community Returns to Normalcy After Alert

The community of Mandria in Paphos is gradually returning to normal after the alert was lifted. Approximately 2,000 residents have returned to their homes and workplaces, but an atmosphere of vigilance remains. Local authorities are closely monitoring developments and are in contact with Civil Defence, while awaiting the installation of a siren system for immediate citizen notification in case of danger. A reception area has been designated at the Museum of the Statos – Agios Fotios community in the event of a new evacuation. Meanwhile, all secondary schools in the province of Paphos, both public and private, are operating normally. The Deputy Director of Secondary Education of Cyprus, Giorgos Koutsidis, assured that the four private schools are functioning without problems. The only school that remains closed is the Kindergarten and Primary School in the community of Akrotiri. Mr. Koutsidis emphasized that the prescribed safety protocols are being observed and a reminder has been sent to schools for their strict implementation. He also called on parents to remain calm, as there is no cause for concern. Student attendance at schools is satisfactory. Overall, the situation in Paphos is considered stable, with authorities remaining on alert and reassuring citizens of their safety.
