Larnaca: 5 Individuals to Face Direct Trial for House Robbery Two Years Ago

Five individuals are to be referred to a direct trial before the Larnaca Permanent Criminal Court on April 2nd, accused of a house robbery in Larnaca two years ago. Four of the accused had already been sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of Dimitris Andronikou. The robbery was reported by the wife of the homeowner, who stated that four masked men broke into the house and, under threat of a weapon, stole money and jewelry worth €188,000. During the investigation, one of the stolen watches was found in a jewelry store in Lebanon, which had been sold by individuals who contacted the owner from Cyprus. Authorities made arrests of suspects, with a 41-year-old admitting to making the phone call to Lebanon from Cyprus and a 30-year-old confessing to selling two rings at a jewelry store in Nicosia. The 41-year-old, in a voluntary statement, implicated the other three convicted individuals in the robbery case. The accused face charges of conspiracy, robbery, burglary and theft. The case is expected to be heard before the Criminal Court, where their guilt or innocence will be determined.
