Cyprus Remains Calm Amidst Middle East Conflict, but Remains Vigilant

Foreign Minister Konstantinos Kombos spoke on ERT regarding the situation in Cyprus amidst the Middle East crisis. He emphasized that daily life for citizens remains largely normal, with schools, universities, and businesses operating as usual, and air traffic levels similar to those before the crisis. However, he stressed the need for proactive security measures, mentioning an attempted attack that was addressed away from the Republic of Cyprus and a drone attack on a British base. He expressed gratitude for the support of Greece, France, Italy, and Spain. Mr. Kombos estimated that the situation in the region will not stabilize soon, highlighting the need for continued protection and security of Cyprus without creating a sense of a war-like state.
