The Republic of Cyprus raised €1 billion through the issuance of a ten-year bond, which was oversubscribed sixteen times, reaching €16.5 billion. The Ministry of Finance announced that this is the highest amount ever achieved in an issue by the Republic. The interest rate was set at 3.25% with a price difference of 0.44%, also a historic low. The success of the issue is attributed to the sound economic policy of the government, which has created conditions of economic stability and has led to continuous upgrades of the Cypriot economy by rating agencies. The Minister of Finance, Makis Keravnos, expressed his full satisfaction with the outcome.
