Cypriot Presidency Reschedules Informal EU Ministerial Meetings

The Cypriot Presidency of the Council of the EU has announced new dates for the informal EU Ministerial Councils, which had been postponed due to regional developments affecting flights to and from Cyprus. The councils will take place in Cyprus in April, May, and June. Specifically, the informal Councils of Ministers responsible for Telecommunications, European Affairs, the Eurogroup, Economic and Financial Affairs, Culture, Cohesion Policy, and Defence have been rescheduled. Some meetings at a technical level will be held via teleconference. The postponement was decided by the Presidency due to the impact of recent geopolitical tensions on air transport. The Cypriot Presidency has assured that it is working to adapt to the program and redefine the meetings, aiming to ensure the smooth participation of member states and EU institutions. The Spokesperson of the Presidency, Stella Michael, stated that the Cypriot Presidency acted immediately and flexibly to adapt to the changes and ensure the smooth implementation of its work.
