€300,000 Limit Set for Business Financial Review

The turnover limit for businesses subject to financial review has been finalized at €300,000, following negotiations and amendments to bills. Initially, DISY's proposal was €900,000, but it was reduced to €400,000 after objections from the Tax Department, the Central Bank, and the banks. Finally, with an amendment from DIKO, the limit settled at €300,000. With the new limit, 54,549 businesses will be subject to review instead of a full audit, submitting audited financial statements. Revenue from this category of companies increased from €301.7 million in 2022 to €414.3 million in 2023. At the same time, with a second bill from DISY, SELK is designated as the competent authority for determining Financial Reporting Standards, responsible for shaping, evaluating, and modifying these standards, as well as consulting with professional bodies. The Minister of Finance will be responsible for approving the Financial Reporting Standards, informing the European Commission, and publishing them in the Official Gazette of the Republic.
