Cyprus' Economy Shows Strong Performance Despite Global Challenges

The Minister of Finance, Makis Keravnos, stated that the data on Cyprus' GDP growth in the fourth quarter of 2025 confirms the dynamism of the Cypriot economy, despite external challenges. He emphasized that the Ministry's policies have created a stable environment, recognized both domestically and by international partners. Mr. Keravnos highlighted the assurance of fiscal stability and sustainability, pointing to the achievement of surplus budgets and the reduction of public debt. The Ministry's goal is to maintain high liquidity and strengthen the country's creditworthiness. Furthermore, the Minister mentioned that inflation has fallen to zero, boosting citizens' purchasing power and creating price stability. At the same time, growth and employment are increasing, with Cyprus recording growth rates higher than the EU average and low unemployment. According to data from the European Statistical Office, Cyprus' growth rate in the fourth quarter of 2025 is 4.5%, significantly higher than the European average. Mr. Keravnos expressed confidence that prudent fiscal management will further contribute to the resilience of the Cypriot economy and maintain high growth rates in the future.
