KEVE and Bahrain Chamber of Commerce Sign MoU

The Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KEVE) and the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the Bahrain-Cyprus Business Forum held in Manama on January 26th. The agreement aims to strengthen bilateral economic and business relations between the two countries. The forum was co-organized by KEVE and the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry, with the participation of the President of the Republic of Cyprus and the Minister of Commerce and Industry of Bahrain. During the forum, President Christodoulides assured that Cyprus wishes to deepen trade and political relations with Bahrain, while emphasizing that strengthening economic relations with the Gulf countries is a priority of the Cypriot presidency in the EU. The Bahrain Minister of Commerce, Abdulla Adel Fakhro, stated that Cyprus and Bahrain have many common characteristics, such as their island nature, economies based on services and tourism, and strategic geographical location. The President of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce, Sameer Abdulla Nass, stressed that economic relations drive political relations and emphasized that the current period is suitable for cooperation between businesses in the two countries, especially in the areas of technology, industry, agriculture, shipping and investment. The President of KEVE, Stavros Stavrou, pointed out that Cyprus can be an attractive option for Bahraini companies seeking access to the European Union.
