Akamas: Ministry Responds to Environmental Concerns

The Ministry of Agriculture has responded to accusations from environmental organizations regarding mismanagement and violations of environmental terms in Akamas. The organizations accused the Forestry Department of inaction and lack of accountability. The Ministry states that managing the area is complex and requires balancing various needs, such as environmental protection, public safety, and fire prevention. Specifically regarding the Aphrodite Baths – Fontana Amorosa road, any interventions will be limited and focus solely on safety and fire protection. The Ministry states that the full operational organization of the park, including a comprehensive access management system, is underway. It acknowledges the role of environmental organizations in the dialogue and has invited their representatives to a meeting to be informed about the Ministry's plans.
