The Mayor of Paphos, Faidonas Faidonos, is being summoned to testify to the Police regarding the alleged assault of his wife, Annie Alexui. The case has resurfaced following the leak of medical documents indicating injuries. Mr. Faidonos responds to the allegations, attributing them to attempts to eliminate him by “circles of corruption and organized crime” due to his reports of corruption. His wife, Louisa Andreou, claims she has never reported an assault to the Police and that the attack against her family is coordinated. The case has a history, as similar allegations were made in 2019, but were filed due to lack of sufficient evidence. Former Chief of Police, Kypros Michaelides, believes that the new documents are more enlightening and could bring the case to court.
