Life Sentence for Cypriot Man Who Drowned Wife in Jacuzzi

An Anglo-Cypriot man, Andreas Georgiou, 45, has been sentenced to life imprisonment by the Aylesbury court for the murder of his wife, Carol Georgiou, 42. The couple had been married for 19 years and had two sons. Carol had filed for divorce due to her husband's oppressive behavior. Andreas is alleged to have held Carol underwater in the jacuzzi until she drowned and then removed the security cameras. After the crime, he called the police claiming he found his wife unconscious. The judge ordered that Georgiou will not be eligible for parole before completing 15 years of imprisonment.
