Strong Earthquake Strikes Off Vanuatu

A strong earthquake of magnitude 6.4 struck off the coast of Vanuatu, with no reports of casualties or serious damage. The epicenter of the earthquake was located in a marine area, approximately 50 kilometers west of the village of Port Olry, on the island of Espiritu Santo. The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center assured that there was no tsunami threat. Residents reported that the earthquake was strong and lasted for several seconds, but did not cause significant damage. Vanuatu is located in an area with high seismic activity, known as the 'Ring of Fire'.
