Claims of Damage to US Spy Plane Hangar Following Akrotiri Strike

The British newspaper "The Sun" claims that the drone that struck Akrotiri Base caused significant damage to a hangar housing US U-2 spy planes, specifically 30 feet of damage. The newspaper also publishes a related photograph. British Bases and the Cypriot government report minor material damage, however the UK Ministry of Defence admitted that the hangar had been hit. According to "The Sun", the base hosts a fleet of U-2 aircraft involved in a long-running spy mission called "Olive Harvest". These aircraft are capable of collecting information, taking photographs and checking the atmosphere for radioactivity. US officials declined to comment on the details of the attack, while estimates suggest the drone was launched from Lebanon.
