Israel Orders Evacuation in Southern Lebanon – Widest Issued to Date

The Israeli army issued an evacuation order for parts of southern Lebanon, calling on residents to move north of the Litani River, as military operations against Hezbollah are expected. This evacuation order is the widest issued to date and marks an escalation of the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah. Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz stated that he has authorized the army to advance and take control of additional positions in Lebanon. The army is urging residents to move for their safety. The conflict began on Monday when Hezbollah opened fire in response to the attack on Iran. Dozens of people have been killed in Israeli strikes in Lebanon since the day before yesterday, while thousands have fled their homes. Israeli air strikes have hit various areas, including the city of Baalbek, causing deaths and injuries.
