Iran: At Least 56 Museums and Historical Sites Damaged in Conflict

Iran's Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Tourism has announced that at least 56 museums and historical sites have been damaged during the ongoing conflict with Israel and the United States. In Tehran, the Golestan Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage site, has already sustained damage from bombings. The province of Tehran is the most affected, with 19 monuments damaged. In Isfahan, Naqsh-e-Jahan Square suffered significant damage, while in Bushehr, historic houses in the port area of Siraf were hit. UNESCO has warned about the damage to cultural heritage in the Middle East, noting that many monuments are at risk.
