Japan: Mysterious 'Emergence' of Giant Steel Pipe on Well-Known Road (VID)

A giant steel pipe, which was underground, suddenly emerged more than 10 meters (32 feet) above a construction site in the Japanese city of Osaka, reaching almost to an elevated road. The incident happened overnight and caused surprise and traffic congestion. The pipe, with a diameter of 3.5 meters (11.5 feet), was used as a supporting structure at a drainage construction site. Authorities believe the lift was caused by pumping water out of the pipe. By Thursday, the pipe had lowered again, and authorities plan to cut the section that remains visible, causing a temporary road closure.
