AHK Workers Stage Strike, Demand Fair Treatment

Workers at the Electricity Authority of Cyprus (AHK) staged a two-hour warning strike, declaring their determination to take further action as they believe AHK is being treated unfairly by the state. They protest the exclusion of AHK from Renewable Energy Sources (RES) and the lack of support for the production of cheap electricity. The workers claim that the report of the Auditor General confirms their warnings about the unfavorable treatment of AHK and the questionable actions of officials in the energy sector. Furthermore, they emphasize the need to upgrade the Dekelia station and AHK's potential to contribute to solving the water problem, however, they denounce political interventions hindering these efforts. The workers call on the competent authorities to investigate the actions of former officials and ensure a fair transition in energy policy.
