Fatal Aglantzia Crash: Criminal Prosecution for Driver - Instructions from NY

The driver involved in the fatal traffic accident in Aglantzia last July, which resulted in the death of 20-year-old Kyriakos Antoniou, will face criminal prosecution. The Legal Service has instructed the Police to proceed with prosecution for the death of the 20-year-old and for traffic violations that arose from the accident. The case was sent to the Legal Service last month, along with an expert report. According to the evidence, the driver was driving at excessive speed, well beyond the permitted limit. The reconstruction that took place at the scene of the accident confirmed this assessment. The tragic incident occurred when Kyriakos Antoniou attempted to turn right at traffic lights and collided with a vehicle driven by a 24-year-old. The collision was so violent that the 20-year-old's car also hit the traffic lights. The Police continue their investigations to clarify all aspects of the case and bring justice to the victim's family.
