Saudi Arabia Rules Out Use of Airspace for Attack on Iran

The Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed bin Salman, assured the President of Iran, Masoud Pezeskian, during a telephone conversation that the Kingdom would not allow its airspace or territory to be used to launch an attack against Iran. The Saudi Crown Prince “reaffirmed, during this conversation, the Kingdom’s position regarding respect for the national sovereignty of the Islamic Republic of Iran and stated that the Kingdom will not allow its airspace or territory to be used for military actions against Iran,” according to a statement—only in Arabic—from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Riyadh published via X. Furthermore, Mohammed bin Salman expressed support for any “efforts to resolve differences through dialogue” to strengthen “security and stability” in the region. Earlier, the United Arab Emirates issued a statement also assuring that it would not allow the use of its airspace to carry out an attack against the Islamic Republic.
