European Literature Comes to Life in Animation at Hambi Municipal Museum of Engraving

The Hambi Municipal Museum of Engraving in Nicosia is presenting a series of animation screenings inspired by European literature. The program includes films based on works by authors such as Goethe, Kafka, and Kolotas, as well as folk legends. The films use various animation techniques, including handmade techniques, 3D animation, and 2D design animation. The creators do not simply illustrate the texts but offer new interpretations and evoke emotions. The program is aimed at audiences of all ages and invites the public on a journey where literature meets animation cinema. The screenings will be accompanied by an introduction by Magdalini Zira. Two screenings will take place on March 28, 2026, at 6:30 PM and 8:30 PM, each lasting 90 minutes. Admission costs 5 euros and seats are limited, with reservation options. The program includes films such as "Erlkönig" based on Goethe's poem, "The Metamorphosis of Mr. Samsa" based on Kafka's "The Metamorphosis," and "Rites of Spring" based on a text by Kostis Kolotas.
