EU Disburses €21.2m to Cyprus Under NextGenerationEU

The European Commission has disbursed €21.2 million in grants to Cyprus as the fifth payment under the Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF), which is part of the NextGenerationEU programme. These funds are intended for reforms and investments in areas such as public administration, justice, transport, tourism, education, healthcare, and energy efficiency. Cyprus had submitted a request for a total payment of €70.5 million, but the disbursement of the remaining funds depends on the implementation of a pending reform regarding green taxation. The total amount supporting Cyprus’ recovery and resilience plan amounts to €1.02 billion.
