Anti-Corruption Authority Investigating Surveillance Allegations

The Independent Authority Against Corruption is investigating complaints related to the surveillance issue and the activity of foreign companies in Cyprus, as confirmed by Transparency Commissioner Charis Poyiatzis to the Parliament. The Authority is examining cases related to the spy van scandal and an email sent to the then-president of DISY, Averof Neofytou, regarding software exports to the Netherlands. Mr. Poyiatzis refused to provide more information citing confidentiality reasons, but stressed that the Authority will publicize the results of the investigation when there is a reason to lift the confidentiality.
