Turkey Reacts to Iranian Missile Launch

Turkey warned of the risk of escalation in the region following the launch of an Iranian ballistic missile headed towards the country. According to Ankara, the missile was intercepted by NATO air defense systems in the Sahinbey area of Gaziantep, without causing casualties. Turkey stressed that it is closely monitoring the situation and has taken all necessary measures to protect its airspace. At the same time, Ankara called on all parties involved, and especially Iran, to avoid actions that could endanger regional security and civilians. Iran stated that the missile was not aimed at Turkey, Cyprus or Azerbaijan. The Turkish government warned citizens not to be misled by unconfirmed information and to rely solely on official announcements.
