Turkey's Reaction to Iranian Missile Launch

Ankara has reacted to the launch of a ballistic missile from Iran, which was heading towards Turkey. According to the head of communications for the Turkish presidency, Burhanettin Duran, the missile was intercepted in time by NATO air defense systems over the Sahinbey district of Gaziantep, without causing any casualties. Turkey emphasized that the development was monitored by all relevant state institutions and that the necessary defense and security measures were immediately activated. All units, including the Ministry of National Defense, are cooperating fully. Turkey warned of the risk of further escalation in the region and called on all parties involved, especially Iran, to avoid actions that could endanger regional security and civilians. Finally, the Turkish side appealed to citizens and the media to exercise caution regarding unconfirmed information and to rely solely on announcements from official authorities.
