US: Flights Suspended at Texas Airport for Security Reasons

The US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has suspended all flights to and from El Paso International Airport in Texas, citing “special security reasons.” The decision was made abruptly, leading to all flights being grounded. Additionally, flights were prohibited from the airspace over the nearby community of Santa Teresa in New Mexico. The restrictions will remain in effect until February 21st and cover a radius of 10 nautical miles from the airport, without affecting Mexican airspace. The FAA has not provided further details regarding the security reasons that led to the decision.
