Erdoğan: “Open Channels of Cooperation” – Trade, Aegean, Gaza and Syria on the Table

From Ankara, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan discussed trade, the Aegean Sea, Gaza, and Syria. Erdoğan highlighted the “positive agenda” and the goal of increasing trade between Greece and Turkey to 10 billion dollars. He emphasized that issues related to the Aegean and the Eastern Mediterranean could be resolved based on international law, and highlighted the need to protect the rights of the Turkish minority in Greece, particularly regarding religious freedom in Western Thrace. Regarding regional issues, he called for a ceasefire in Gaza and rejected Israel’s decisions to expand into the West Bank. He also underscored the importance of promoting cooperation on security issues and Turkey’s participation in European defense initiatives.
