Restoration Work Begins on Windmill in Occupied Limnia

Restoration work has begun on the windmill in occupied Limnia, Famagusta, as announced by the co-chair of the Technical Committee on Cultural Heritage, Ali Tunçai. The committee emphasizes the importance of preserving such structures to highlight the economic and cultural history of Cyprus and to maintain the island's common heritage. Due to insufficient water resources for watermills in Cyprus, windmills were an important solution in certain areas. The project is funded by the European Union and technically supported by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
