Health Committee Aims for Swift Completion of Imaging Centers Bill Discussion

The President of the Parliamentary Health Committee, Efthymios Diplaros, expressed hope for the swift completion of the discussion of the bill regarding imaging centers. The goal is to pass most bills before the parliament's adjournment. The discussion began on Thursday and focused on the institutionalization of these centers, with some MPs calling for more order and others expressing reservations about specific points. The Committee initiated an article-by-article discussion on the bill concerning Imaging Centers (Establishment, Operation and Control), as well as the abolition of a provision regarding parliamentary approval for the disposal of assets of the State Health Services Organization. Simultaneously, it completed the discussion on the bill related to the operation of Units for the Application of Primitive Hematopoietic Cells. Mr. Diplaros stated that the discussion on the operation of the primitive hematopoietic cell application unit has been enriched by the Ministry of Health and other stakeholders, and a final position is expected next week. Regarding the bill for imaging centers, he noted that the discussion has been completed up to article 8 and that there is a positive atmosphere for its rapid completion. Mr. Diplaros emphasized that the main objective is the institutionalization of the centers, ensuring patient safety, and controlling procedures and equipment. He also anticipates changes to the bill, following agreement among stakeholders, to improve the operation of the centers and protect patients.
