Police Operations: Nine Arrests for a Series of Offenses

The Cyprus Police carried out extensive preventive operations throughout Cyprus, aiming to prevent criminal activities, ensure public order, and increase citizens' sense of security. During the operations, nine people were arrested for various offenses, such as conspiracy, causing bodily harm, possession of drugs, and illegal stay on the island. A total of 363 vehicle checks and 24 premises checks were conducted, resulting in one complaint. In addition, 143 traffic violations were recorded, 50 of which concerned speeding, as well as 22 traffic accidents. Also, 53 alcohol checks were carried out with two positive complaints and 7 vehicles were confiscated. The policing operations focused on key points in urban areas and included targeted checks and immediate action. The Police is committed to continuously strengthening its presence and effectively tackling crime. The Cyprus Police continues coordinated operations to prevent and suppress crime, with increased presence, targeted checks, and immediate action, in order to increase citizens' sense of security and ensure public order.
