Cyprus Parliament Speaker Criticizes Government Handling of Video Issue

The President of the House of Representatives, Annita Demetriou, has expressed strong dissatisfaction with the government's handling of the controversial video issue. She believes that no convincing answers have been provided and that the case is causing serious institutional and political damage to Cyprus, as well as undermining the intelligence of citizens. Ms. Demetriou calls for immediate and clear political decisions to restore the credibility of institutions and public trust. Specifically, she proposes accountability from those responsible, the initiation of independent investigations, and the publication of financial information related to the Fund's assets. Furthermore, the President of the House calls for drastic changes in the way the Fund operates, emphasizing that without bold decisions and institutional action, Cyprus will continue to be exposed both domestically and internationally. Ms. Demetriou believes that the government has failed to meet expectations and that the management of the issue is inadequate, leading to a worsening situation and jeopardizing the country's interests.
