Massive Human Trafficking Ring Busted in Crete – How Thousands of Victims Were Trapped

A massive human trafficking ring operating in Crete has been dismantled, exploiting migrants from Pakistan. The organization, based in Heraklion, operated through a private KEP (Citizen Service Center) that provided fictitious employment contracts to bring migrants to Greece. The migrants owed large sums of money to the organization and were forced to work illegally to pay them off, with the money going to the ringleaders. The investigation revealed that the organization had been operating since the end of 2023 and defrauded the Greek state and Greek consular authorities. The organization is accused of human trafficking, illegal entry and residence, money laundering, fraud, and violation of labor laws.
