Five Individuals to Stand Trial for Violent Larnaca Clash

Five individuals have been referred to direct trial before the Larnaca Criminal Court for the violent clash that took place on January 17th outside the Larnaca Central Police Station. The 48-year-old, alleged to be the head of an illegal group demanding protection money, and four foreign nationals are accused of conspiracy, illegal possession of weapons, extortion, demanding property under threats, participation in a criminal organization, and assault causing grievous bodily harm. Three more individuals are wanted, as they appear to have fled abroad. Two of the accused face additional charges for an assault that occurred earlier in Pyla. The defense is opposing their detention until the start of the trial.
