The police force in Guadalupe, Mexico, will be reinforced with robotic dogs in preparation for the 2026 World Cup. The robots, costing around 120,000 euros, will be used to transmit real-time images to the police before any intervention, enhancing officer safety. A demonstration showed a robot dog climbing stairs, patrolling an abandoned building, and identifying an armed man, ordering him via loudspeaker to drop his weapon. Mayor Hector Garcia stated that the robots will be deployed in situations of unrest, protecting the physical integrity of the police officers.
