Energy Crisis Without a Plan

The energy situation in Cyprus is critical, with an increasing risk of widespread power outages, especially during the summer. Despite warnings, the Christodoulides government has not presented a comprehensive plan to strengthen production capacity, create reserves, and shield the system. The lack of reserves and procrastination, which also characterized the previous government, exacerbate the situation. Energy security is a fundamental obligation of the state, and the government's inaction endangers economic stability and social cohesion. Immediate action and a specific, costed plan with measurable goals are needed to avoid widespread power outages and economic damage.
