Greek Cypriot Released on Bail After Arrest for Collecting Wild Greens in Occupied Cyprus

A Greek Cypriot who was arrested in the occupied territories while collecting wild greens has been released on bail by the “district court” in occupied Nicosia. However, he will appear before a “military court” on Thursday, February 19th, for an additional “charge”. The man was arrested on February 10th near Gerolakkos. The initial charge was “illegal possession of explosives” due to the discovery of 16 hunting cartridges in his vehicle, for which he was given a bail of 1 million Turkish lira. He is now accused of violating a “military prohibited zone”.
