Audit Office Reports Delays in Financial Statements from Public Entities

The Audit Office is recording significant delays in the submission of financial statements from public entities. Spokesperson Marios Petridis stated that the Municipality of Paphos is an indicative example of compliance, as its financial statement has been submitted and audited up to 2023. However, other investigations are underway in the Municipality of Paphos, for which the Office is collecting information. In total, there are 6,734 outstanding financial statements from 653 entities from 1995 to 2023, with many entities not having submitted any financial statements at all. The Audit Office emphasizes the importance of transparency and compliance with financial obligations by all entities.
