National Guard Conducts Artillery Live-Fire Exercises with High Training Standards

The National Guard conducted artillery live-fire exercises targeting maritime objectives between February 10-12 at the Kiti Firing Range. The exercises aimed to evaluate the personnel's level of training in the technical and tactical use of weapon systems. During the exercises, participants were trained in tactical and technical fire direction procedures, coordination of supporting fires, and target acquisition. Furthermore, procedures for cooperation between different arms and branches of the armed forces were examined, with the aim of strengthening inter-branch cooperation, interoperability, and the operational readiness of the National Guard. The National Guard hierarchy, during its visit to the firing range, observed the excellent organization and high level of training of the personnel. According to an announcement from the GEAF, these exercises are part of the ongoing effort to maintain and improve the operational capability of the National Guard. Emphasis was placed on the accuracy of the fire, the coordination of forces, and the effective use of weapon systems. The successful completion of the exercises confirms the high professional training of the National Guard personnel and its ability to respond to potential operational challenges. This exercise is an important step in strengthening Cyprus's deterrent capability.
