Cyprus National Guard Benefits from Increased Military Presence in Eastern Mediterranean

The Cyprus National Guard is leveraging the increased military activity in the Eastern Mediterranean to gain operational lessons and improve coordination with other forces. The presence of foreign forces has provided opportunities for joint exercises and experience in network-centric operations, where the immediate exchange of information is critical for effectiveness. Simultaneously, Greek F-16s stationed at the Paphos airbase are becoming familiar with the Cypriot FIR and the operational environment of the region, while the National Guard has placed four fighter aircraft under its coordination. Further exercises and joint training with forces in the area are expected, aiming to enhance operational capabilities and coordination.
