Archaeological Exhibition Showcases Shared Cultural Identity Between Cyprus and Italy

The archaeological exhibition “Cyprus and Italy: Shared Cultural Identities at the Dawn of History” was inaugurated in Rome, presenting the timeless common heritage of Cyprus, Sicily, and Sardinia. The exhibition, part of the Cultural Program of the Cypriot Presidency of the Council of the EU 2026, features 120 rare archaeological artifacts. The inauguration was attended by the Presidents of Cyprus and Italy, Nikos Christodoulides and Sergio Mattarella, along with prominent officials. A standout exhibit is a bronze talent from Sardinia, made from Cypriot copper, demonstrating the extent of trade and technological exchange in the Bronze Age. The exhibition highlights the importance of culture as a tool for political cohesion and strengthening ties between Cyprus and Italy.
