Family Alleges Neglect Led to Death of 72-Year-Old Patient at Larnaca Hospital

A serious complaint concerns the death of a 72-year-old patient at Larnaca Hospital, with her granddaughter alleging delays in providing medical care and neglect. According to the complaint, the patient waited five hours to be examined by a doctor, and after admission, she remained without water or food for many hours. The family reports that they were assured that the patient's condition was good, but shortly afterwards they were informed of her death from cardiac arrest. The patient's granddaughter claims that the delay in providing care could have prevented the tragic outcome. The complaint is linked to the fact that the same day there were shootings outside the ADE Larnaca, which caused disruption in the hospital and possible neglect of other cases. The family has sent a letter of complaint to the OKYPY and the Minister of Health, requesting a full investigation of the circumstances of the death and accountability, if any. The complaint states that when the family arrived at the hospital after the patient's death, they found that the bottle of water and the box of pills were sealed, indicating that she had not taken her medication. The family requests that it be investigated whether the patient was continuously monitored and whether the prescribed resuscitation procedures were activated in time.
