Thessaloniki Murder: 23-Year-Old Charged with Fatal Stabbing

A 23-year-old man has been charged with the murder of a 20-year-old in Kalamaria, Thessaloniki. The accused was transferred under heavy security to the courthouse due to fears of incidents, as he is an organized supporter of a rival team to the victim's. He claims he was attacked by five supporters and used the knife in self-defense, while he himself appears to have been injured. According to his testimony, he received blows to the head, face and body, even with a hammer. Police are investigating the incident and have arrested the 23-year-old on charges of intentional homicide and illegal possession of a weapon. In addition, two other people who were with the victim during the incident are being sought. The victim's family lawyer states that the 23-year-old had intent and wanted to kill. The accused admitted to having the knife on him for work reasons. The investigation is ongoing to determine the exact motive for the murder, and so far there is no information about previous incidents of fan violence by those involved. According to information, the victim allegedly was involved in attacks on people he met online, pretending to be interested in underage girls.
