Electricity Authority of Cyprus Workers Threaten Further Action Over Government Treatment

Workers at the Electricity Authority of Cyprus (EAC) held a two-hour warning strike protesting the unfavorable treatment the Authority receives from the government. They accused the government of lacking support for the EAC's efforts to produce cheap electricity and reduce costs for consumers. They also stated that the Auditor General's report reveals the exclusion of the EAC from Renewable Energy Sources (RES). The workers say they are willing to escalate their mobilization, while also calling for an investigation into possible injustices and illegal interventions in the energy sector. They also emphasized the contribution that the EAC can make to solving the water problem.
