Winter Weather Persists: Storms, Hail and Snow Expected in Cyprus

A new low-pressure system is affecting Cyprus, bringing increased cloud cover, local rains and thunderstorms, mainly on the coasts and in the mountains. Sleet or snow is expected on the highest peaks of Troodos, while the temperature will drop significantly, reaching 6 degrees Celsius inland, 9 degrees on the coast and 1 degree in the mountains, where frost is expected. The weather is expected to remain unstable tomorrow, with local rains and isolated thunderstorms, initially in the western half and in the mountains, and later inland and in the north. The temperature will rise to 18 degrees Celsius inland and on the coast, but will remain low in the mountains (8 degrees). Isolated rains or thunderstorms are expected tomorrow night, mainly on the west coast. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday are expected to have intermittent local rains and isolated thunderstorms, with the possibility of hail during thunderstorms and snow or sleet on the highest peaks of Troodos. The temperature will rise slightly, but will remain close to the average climatic values.
